However, if you are interested in becoming a member and wish to be added to the waiting list, please let me know by completing the form below. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate every request to join. It is important to read the notes under before submitting your request.

 

New members submit to a probationary period of 6 months and to attending at least 10 times within this period before being considered for full membership. You would need to align with the times noted under "Sessions" on the Information page i.e. Sunday, Tuesday, or Friday mornings with, ideally, at least 5 of the 10 visits during the Sunday morning sessions.

 

• We are not able to accept visitors to the club except by prior arrangement with the Secretary.

• We are required to notify Dorset Police of the details of all new members and their approval of your membership is essential. It is important to be aware that, although your interest may be purely air rifle/pistol, the club does use live firearms and this is part of the police consideration. If there is anything in your background or living environment that could cause the police to look unfavourably on your membership then it is not in your interest to apply.

• An offer of membership, if not taken up, will expire 28 days after being issued. 

• Unfortunately, for safeguarding reasons, we can only accept juniors (under 18 years of age) where the parent or guardian is an existing Full Member.

• Section 21 of the Firearms Act 1968 applies to anybody who has been sentenced to imprisonment or to youth custody or detention in a young offenders' institution for three months or more. Section 21 prohibits anyone from having a firearm or ammunition in his or her possession at any time. If this applies to you then you will not be permitted to join.

• If you ever had a Firearm or Shotgun Certificate revoked or had membership of another shooting club withdrawn then I'm afraid it is unlikely that we will be able to consider your application.

• To enable the club to correspond efficiently with members it is required that you have an email address. We also use WhatsApp Groups to pass information quickly and to communicate with each other. It is useful to have that capability on your phone but not conditional.

• Home Office legislation stipulates that only members can use the range except on organised Guest Days. Experience days are not possible.
